Hi there! I just recently joined. I am nearly 15 weeks pregnant and I was wondering if I was going to be "on my own" in a few months, after alll these babies are born. I have a son who is just 13 months old, so I can definitely remember and relate to these "late pregnancy" hurdles. So...is anyone out there in the "first half" boat with me?

I'm right there with you sister. 16 weeks today. This is the first one for me so everything is a surprise. I'm at that stage where I'm in serious denial about fitting into my regular clothes. I'd say i've got about one week left before I have to surrender to the maternity stuff.

Yipee! Someone who can share with me for the "long haul"!! LOL. I gave up on the regular clothes weeks ago...mainly because I just wasn't comfortable. Of course, it doesn't help that this is baby #2, so my belly popped out as soon as I took that test! LOL. Have you found some fun clothes...they have really improved maternity lines in the past few years. Have you had an ulrasound yet? Do you have the "big one" coming up? I see my dr. tomorrow and will schedule mine after that. It's so much fun!

How was your doctor's appointment? I've actually had two ultrasounds and I'm calling to schedule the "big one" on monday. probably about 3 weeks from now. During my 13 month ultrasound the nurse showed me on the monitor some evidence that lead me to believe I might be having a boy but I'm waiting for the official word. Have found a few cute/comfy maternity items but in these early months I'm finding that tees and tops by brands like Splendid and Michael Stars are really comfortable/stylish and seem to give enough around the belly area.

I'm close! I'll be 12 weeks this weekend and I'm counting the days to be past the fatefull 13 week mark. So far so good though, no serious symptoms except a few weeks earlier on of sore BBs and lots of peeing, but nothing I can't live with. I am really enjoying the podcasts, as I am "on my own" as far as I know, none of my friends are (or ever were) pregnant, and I don't know anyone at work who is either. It's so nice to hear other people in the same situation, blazing the way and preparing me for what is to come!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

great to hear from you girls. I FINALLY had my dr appt on Monday (after it was reschuled twice!) and it went great. It was good to hear the heartbeat again and hubby got to come this time. Don't worry about being the only one pregnant...all the more attention on you!LOL. I can't wait for my next ultrasound...probably 2 more weeks. We've decided to "be surprised" this time around (I found out I was having a boy the last time) but I am looking forward to seeing the little guy/girl causing all this raucous in my body!

I am in the same boat. 16 weeks and 5 days! Just had my 16 week visit to the midwife and hear the heartbeat. I was relieved. Every now and again I get a twinge here and there then worry that I might have done something. I think I have also felt baby move. Sometimes more distinctly than others. Glad I found others in the same boat. EDD = 23rd Feb. How about you all?

I just join in and have been listening to Pregtastic for the past two months and find it really helpful. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and this Friday i'll get to find out if it's a boy or girl. I started to feel more movement. Last night my husband felt a tiny kick when he put his hand on my belly. It was so exciting.;)

I am 15 weeks today. This is my 4th pregnancy, but we have no children yet. This is the one that will increase our family. Just in the last few days the morning/none stop sickness has stopped and I feel better. I've been wearing maternity pants since week 5 and today I look 5 months. No, it's not twins. Anyways, no I feel worried because I'm not sick and before when I was sick I knew that the pregnancy was fine. I'm crazy right?

I'm 16 weeks as well and so very excited!!! I also gave in and bought maternity clothes weeks ago simply because sitting down in my jeans was uncomfortable. And to be honest, I normally HATE shopping for clothes, but I had a blast buying my preggie stuff. I dunno, but it really helped set in the fact that I'm pregnant.

As of yesterday I am 14 weeks. I am to be due in April the 17. They say that maybe later depending on everything. I have been though lot of downs with in the first trimester. I had to go in to the ER because I had a very high fever like 103.something and I had a very bed Kidney infection. I have to take this medication for the rest of my pregnancy. I recently had a doctor appointment and the doctor gave me another medication for the morning sickness because I have lost some weight. With this it has helped a lot more and only thing is that I wish I didn't have to take this much medication.

I am 23 weeks today and despite bleeding throughout the first trimester, having a big scare at my 20 week ultrasound and subsequent amniocentesis (everything turned out fine-just doctors covering their butts), I am feeling very good. Have started to feel some intermittent kicking. I have a velamentous cord attachment, too, which I guess isn't a huge deal (at least that is how everyone is treating it). It can result in blood flow problems and growth issues, so i have to have an ultrasound every 4-6 weeks, which i can't really complain about. I am due 2/11 and am having either a boy or a girl (the amniocentesis confirmed that there are only 2 Xs or an X and one Y), but we won't know until D-day. But besides all of the above all is well, except that I am on the verge of having to resort to maternity clothes. At least they are much cooler/hipper these days!

Also, I am traveling across country this week and was just wondering if anyone has any good travel tips for pregos?

Hi Lisa,
You wouldn't be the first to call your husband or the doctor to tell them "that you are feeling well, this is really bad...". My friend has had the same response both times she was pregnant. I am now 17 weeks along and am still feeling tired. Waiting for the time that everyone says will give me more energy than usual instead of less. I have my big ultrasound in three weeks, but had two already. On the second we could see the head and the spine and arms and legs. Still a little 'alien' though. A few weeks ago we finally heard the heart, beating healthily. I still feel fat instead of pregnant. Does that ever go away?

I am going into my 15th week. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had very few symptoms during my first trimester. In fact, even at this point it seems a bit dreamlike because the main ways I know I'm pregnant are that I'm not having my period and of course I know because of the visits to the doctor and pictures from ultrasound. I was not thin -- I am thick-waisted and pre-pregnancy about a size 14-16 and I have large breasts so I don't really look too different. Some of my pants are tighter but most of my clothes still fit me so I haven't bought any maternity clothes, just a couple of bigger bras, although I probably need to buy some new pants soon. The other thing that has changed is that I'm more moody and sensitive but that also may be because of all the "firsts" and because this pregnancy was a surprise, and a number of things in my life are very transitional right now - namely, career and finances. Still, this is the best surprise I've ever gotten in my life and my boyfriend and I are very excited. Though my boyfriend and I live together now and have for the past 2 years, we have had a complicated relationship over the nearly 15 years we have been together on and off, mostly on, so most of my concerns have been psychological and my questions are more about the family dynamic we will create. We are both the "overthinking" types and I don't want that to work against us. All things considered, I think our relationship is improving. I love our baby so much and smile to myself all the time, to think that I am pregnant!

HI all - I am at 22w24d with 1st baby. I'm 39 and have gained 17 pounds. I had minimal symptoms my 1st trim. too. Just was very tired, didn't enjoy food I used to love as much..that's it. Very lucky! Nursery is now painted. Looking at registry stuff now. Saving up for the 4 months I'll be taking off after the baby is born (sex will be a surprise BTW). My agency calls using all your sick, personal and vacation time "maternity leave". Ha. That's amusing, isn't it? Dh gets 3 weeks paid paternity.

I am 25 weeks 2 days. I was sick all through the first trimester and a couple of weeks into the second. I felt baby kick around 16 weeks and he hasn't let up yet. I have gained about 10-11 lbs. I am due March 22nd and just picked out my Doula and signed up for my hypnobirthing class, which starts at the end of January!

I'm 17 weeks pregnant. I go for my next ultrasound in 2 weeks. We may find out what it is if we are lucky! This is my first but I have been in maternity clothes for 2 months now. I wasnt comfortable at all so I just did it. Besides has anyone noticed the style of normal girl clothes are kinda pregnant tops? most of my pregnant tops arent even maternity at all!

I'm about 22 weeks, due July 11. I found out last week through an ultrasound that we are having a girl! That was a surprise, because all the grandmas were sure it was a boy. I am long past my regular clothes. This is my second baby and I was amazed at how fast I grew compared with my first. I don't mind the maternity clothes as they are very comfortable! Although most maternity tops are still way to big for me. I imagine next month or so they will be just right.

Hi I'm 25 weeks into the pregnancy. We are having a boy!(Jonas) My due date is June 21st. This is my first baby and I am an only child...so you can imagine how excited my parents are. I can just now see the baby move very lightly and quickly on the out side of my tummy...it is the most amazing thing ever. I can not believe how I dont know what he looks like, how his voice sounds or any of his ways....and I am completly in love with him!!

I am in the honeymoon trimester and wrapping up my 21st week. My baby is due August 5th. I have really enjoyed the experience. I did have 4 weeks of peering down the toilet bowl puking my guts out from Christmas till the end of January, but once that passed it has been smooth sailing. I have gained 10lbs so far and have been eating as healthy as I can plus exercising almost daily. I bought a Bella Band to extend the life of my pants and skirts so I have not had the pleasure of buying maternity clothes yet.

It has just been a very good experience all around for me and my hubby. Looking forward to signing up for hypnobirthing and my birth center childbirth classes. Starting to get my mind right for the baby's birthday!

Hi girls! I am 37 years old, I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first child (due August 27th), it's a boy (I was sure it was a boy since the beginning! I am soooo happy!!) and I enjoy the second trimester as during the first one I was sick from morning to night with nauseas and I was exhausted... I got "saved" thanks to acupuncture and homeopathy which I recommend for all the little problems due to the pregnancy, it works so well! Thanks to the treatment I began to gain weight...but maybe to much? I gained already 4 kilos in 4 months.... gloups...is it normal?
I lived and worked in California for 2 years and half until December 2007. I enjoy listening to the podcasts and I would like to be in touch with other pregnant women as I am alone in France (I have my family but no other pregnant woman to share the ups and downs with...) where I left at the beginning of my pregnancy (I didn't even know I was pregnant when I decided to get divorced and to come back to my home country in december...) . I am very happy to wait for this baby that I desired so much and at the same time it's hard to be a single mum. I am trying to find a doula to have somebody to support me and to share this happy moment... It's not easy in Europe... I look forward to reading you... and to listening to the next podcast!!

Hey girls! I'm 16 weeks along, and feeling great. Luckily my pregnancy is following my mother's like a map. Everything that happened to her, happens to me! She told me that the 2nd trimester is the "magical" trimester, and that you feel so good you forget you're pregnant!
