Third Trimester

Anyone else close to their due date? I'm due in 3 weeks but think I'll go sooner, possibly by induction. I'm effaced and dilated 1cm. I go for another ultrasound on Wed to check the baby's size. At 34 weeks he was approx 6lbs already.

Well, I just wanted to see if anyone else was close too! I'm getting very excited to meet my little boy! X(

Well, my kid is breech so I have a c-section scheduled for Sept 19th. Only 10 more days!!!

Hi Ginger,

No worries about the c-section. I have to say my two kids were c-section and it was a breeze to have it done. The only tough part is about a week after you have pain getting up and down from bed, especially a flat bed. Take the pain meds and you'll be much better too.

Kristen, and acupuncturist, spoke on the last podcast downloaded about acupuncture helping with c-section recovery so check it out. Also, Kirsty, one of the hosts told me about a pump thing called OnQ I think that gives local anesthetic to the c-section incision and is supposed to help it heal faster. You may want to check that out. I tried to get it but because we had the c-sect. earlier than expected the dr. who did me doesn't do the OnQ pumps. Anyway, I was fine recovering this time, much better than last so I didn't mind.

All the best to you. Remember to get up and around even with grandma sliding steps to get yourself back together again. Though, if it's so painful at first wait a day and try again.

Enjoy your time with your baby at the hospital. Stay as long as you can because the help there is priceless, you'll find when you get home.

Thanks Patti - glad to hear your recovery was smooth. My mom is coming for a week to help so I am very fortunate. I can't wait - I can't believe it's only days away!

I'm in my third trimester too. I'm 37 1/2 weeks. Since I was 33 weeks pregnant, I have been having early labor and contractions. I was hospitalized, put on meds, taken off meds and put back on them. I am finally considered full term and have been off the meds for about 1 week. I was expecting the baby to come right away, but now I have a feeling I am going to be 42 weeks pregnant. Ha, the irony.

Today is the day! I'm off to have my son - best wishes to the other soon to be mommies!
