Does anyone have any suggestions for diaper bags? Certain brand, big, small, etc.? I would love to hear what others have used and would use again. Thanks!

Personally I was just thikning of using any old bag that I have - most women i have spoken to usually ditch their big ol diaper bags and just use a regular tote. Pop in yourportable changing pad diapers etc and you're good to go. At least that's my theory. We'll see in a couple of months.

What about high chairs? Any brands that are highly recommended? I've heard Graco is good for everything, but I would like a high chair that I can pull off the table with only one hand. What has everyone else used or put on their registries?

aerlinger,
I agree with Alice, Don’t waste your money on a bag. I don’t know about your hospital but at Scripps here in San Diego they give them away compliments of the formula companies. If you don’t find one in your room maybe ask. We got 3 different ones in our room all from 3 different companies. We like and use the one that is more of a backpack. It holds the important things, has a build in changing pad and is still nice and small.
High chairs we found some great deals on craigslist.org (carseats also). Though our experience is only with this one the PegPerego (Prima Pappa) works great for us. It is very adjustable, the tray comes off easily, and everything cleans up pretty easily.
Hope this helps

Back to the diaper bag thing. I know they maybe a total waste of money, but I am planning on getting a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag. They are gorgeous and really funky and can act as an enlarged purse. They are really pricey new, but you can find them on eBay or Craig's List.
Just my two cents :)

I have a Wendy Bellisimo camo messenger bag that I will use as a purse as well. I love it and definately wanted a diaper bag. It has a ton of room for the baby's things as well as a seperate place for all my things. I can't wait to use it!!

About diaper bags, they depend on your needs and your baby's needs. I prefer a small bag with not much in it and that worked for our son who didn't need much. However with two babies now, I've found my small bag doesn't work any longer. We use a backpack we got at the hospital from a formula company. It's easy to carry and has lots of room, and dad likes the plain black color.
The cool colorful bags look good and most are practical space wise as you can use it as your purse also. I always used my purse and the small diaper bag, if I wanted to bring the diaper bag, so I didn't have to transfer stuff all the time.
You'll find what works for you when you have the baby. I found you really don't need a ton of stuff in the bag. For my son, I carried diapers and wipes and bags for soiled diapers, oh, and aburp cloth when he was bottle feeding. Sometimes, depending on the trip, I'd bring small toys and baby food or bottles too.
I've seen cool looking diaper bags and Right Start on clearance and Nordstrom's baby dept. has many, though pricey.
Best to you,

I have an Evenflo haighchair that I really like...it has adjustable heights, three reclinable postitions and a removable tray insert. The only drawback is that now that my first baby is 15 months old, he is able to really rock it (the seat, not the frame). He's going to move to a booster soon, though, so it's not a big deal. The only other thing I can say is, make sue that whatever you get has a simple design (not too many crevaces) and a completely removable cover that is easy to wash. (Mine goes straight in the washing machine). If it is very nice (an light colored) consider spraying it with Scotchguard.
As for diaperbags, I bought an inexpensive Carter's one until I figured what type I really liked. We were given a second one from Lands End that hubby Likes because it looks more "masculine" I really like that one as well. It can expand to accomodate LOTS of stuff, but condenses nicely as well. It is durable, cleans easily, and has a nice sized changing pad. It's quite sporty, though, so it depends on your interests. I say, either buy an inexpensive one at Target or something or use the ones previously mentioned from the hospital, until you figure out what you personally need and then invest in what you like. In a few months, you can fill the one you don't want with toys and watch your little one pull everything out again. Believe me, it''ll be fun!
