Am I Normal? - Questions

I know we all have the questions and thoughts running through our minds during pregnancy of "am I normal?"

This is my first child and I'm about 24 weeks along now. This past weekend I woke up and my shirt was sticking to my right breast in the nipple area. Apparently I am leaking during the night! ::o

Has anyone experienced this before at this point in their pregnancy? Is it a normal thing? I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor, but could use some reassurance.

Yip you're normal! A friend of mine started leaking at 16 weeks, so I guess you're just ripe and ready to breastfeed!

It probably happens more than people would like to admit. You're fine, don't worry.

Yea! I'm normal! lol ;) I guess I'm taking after my mom. She said she could have fed the whole neighborhood when I was a baby. ;)

Here is an answer from a lactation consultant...You are very normal. Some women leak during pregnancy and some don't. It's pretty 50/50 about who does and who doesn't. Women start making colostrum at around the 2nd trimester, so leaking starts really taking flight from about week 20 on, but most women tend to start leaking (if they're going to) as she enters her 3rd trimester. Don't you worry, you join the league of many women with wonderful milk production capabilities!

I haven't been leaking, but my breasts get the same sore spots that they did when I was breastfeeding my son and they would get full. Sounds like it's normal and also an early introduction into what's to come. ;)

oh just wait till the last week or so, when you take to hot of a shower and it squirts across the room!!!! lol. where a bra to bed and this will help minimize it. if its a lot use a breast pad in your bra too.
