Howdy! Nathaniel here. I was the lucky guy that got to be on Podcast #25 and I just wanted to start a discussion for any and all dad's who have questions. Believe me, I'm no expert, that's why I want to start a discussion.

I won't necessarily be answering questions so much as facilitating. It's important to me to get as many dad's involved in this as possible.

(Royce, if there's a better way to do this definitely let me know and/or repost this thread.)

So, dads--let's talk!

By the way, our due date is Nov. 16th (tomorrow) and YES--I'm nervous and excited at the same time. ;)

Hey cool! Let me know if you have any questions or comments, and tell me about your experiences. Right now I'm still waiting for my baby who's a week and a half over due. We're not looking forward to having to induce so send your well-wiishing. ;)

Well, since you are open to comments. What in the world do I do 1st as a daddy-to-be? I know what my DW needs to do and I've been keeping up with her. So what should I be doing? Working hard...saving $? Cleaning the house? Take care of the cars? What?

Ooh, You've opened up a can of worms here, my friend. He he. Well, here's a short list of things to do:

1. Attend as many baby appointments as possible; even the short ones.
2. Clean the house without being asked by said DW
3. Listen to all podcasts on pregtastic
4. Commuunicate with DW regarding her birth desires and come up with a written plan that you will hand your caregivers before the birth
5. Be a general all-around good guy to your wife and help her feel comfortable during the next 9 months of varying stages of discomfort. I find lots of hugs and kisses help. ;)
6. Save up as much money as you can and get those cars repaired. I'm realizing I need to get one my car's oil changed and won't have time before the birth. It's already 1000 miles overdue but it's a reliable Honda Civic.
7. Work hard but make sure you're not away from DW too long. She needs lots of attention and to know you're there for her.

Hope that little list helps. How's things going so far? How far along is the pregnancy?

Thanks for the advice. I am doing the housework like a soldier. DW is working full-time. I am at home/looking for employment. We have an appointment Wednesday, should get to hear his/her heartbeat. Can't wait.

Take a tape recorder and record your baby's first heartbeat. You won't regret it!
