Shhh! Keep it a secret

DW and I found out we were pregnant 7 weeks ago. We haven't told our families and friends yet. We've both told people we know will pray for us and give us good advice. But since DW and I are very well known in our circles I didn't want her to get the 1,000 questions until we knew we were out of the woods, 1st trimester. We plan to announce it over Christmas holidays.

So my question is when did you tell everyone in your circle?

My DW and I told our friends and family after the first ultrasound 8 weeks along. We told my fraternal-twin brother and his fiancee about 2 weeks along. Only tell people this early that you know will understand if, god forbid, the pregnancy doesn't go full-term.

The first time I got pregnant, we told EVERYONE as soon as we found out...then, at ten weeks, I had a miscarriage. It was very difficult because various people were affected differently and many of rthe reactions were very stressful for me to deal with. SO...when I got pregnant with DS and again this time, we only told MAYBE two close friends before our first ultrasound at around 10 weeks. Then, by 11 or 12 weeks, we told many family members and our close friends. Finally, at 13 weeks or so, we sent out mass announcememts. It was fun...we actually got to drag out the big news over several months.

I also have been keeping my pregnancy a secret from my family. In January 2006 we found out we were pregnant. We immediately got on the phone and told our families. One week later I lost the pregnancy. It broke my heart to have to tell them what happened. Sooooo when we found out that we were pregnant again this January we waited until after our first ultrasound at 8 weeks to tell the my husbands family. I am now 11 weeks and have not yet told my family! It is soooo difficult to keep it a secret, but my family worries so much I wanted to make sure that this pregnancy is going to go well. I plan to tell them in April over Easter! Only 3 weeks to go!!!!(:P)

We are 7 weeks pregnant with our first but have not told our families. It is killing us! Especially because my wife's parents came to visit us for the last 2 weeks (ironically, because her brother as having a baby).

I think it's a great idea to wait until the first trimester is over, but we're about to explode! So we're gonna tell everyone after our week 8 ultrasound next week... we're so excited!

Our plan is to show a DVD of my latest demo reel (chadfx.com) to the family and at the end it will show a graphic of all the kids in the family and their kids, and then me and my wife with a picture of the ultrasound with big words "WE'RE PREGANANT!"

It'll will catch them off guard and be so fun!

How did everyone here tell?
