Hi,
I want to cloth diaper my son, who is due July 4th. Does anyone have an alternative to the diaper sprayer for cleaning off poopy diapers? I don't want to invest in the sprayer unless the cloth diapering is successful and I'm sure I'm going to continue.

We use flushable disposable diaper liners, which catch most of the poopy mess and you can just discard, then throw the rest of the diaper in the laundry! I use Kushies brand...

1stTimeMommy, that sounds terrific. How many times do you fold the liner in the diaper? Any tips for use?

I actually don't fold them at all! If they are too long for your diaper, you may want to fold them. Here is the basic info on using flushable diaper liners (this website is for a different brand tho...)

I am using the peri bottle they gave me at the hospital for postpartum care to spray off my poopy diapers before they go in the washer for a quick rinse cycle. I use very little water that way, nothing is hooked up to the toilet, and it does the job! You could use any kind of squirt bottle!

I am looking into using the flushable liners for my next child (whenever that happens) for those first meconium poops only. I hear it stains pretty badly! I don't think we had any meconium stains on clothing with Miles, but I don't want black-stained diapers!
