I would love to hear a show on pregnancy or parenting with disabilities. My husband was in a car accident and lives with a brain injury and we are expecting our first child, due November 8th, 2009. Because of his injury, we are always finding strategies to manage his injury and pregnancy/parenting that other healthy couples may not have to consider.

Personally, I am frustrated with the lack on information out there to help new parents who also have disabilities. I feel like I have learned so much already from your podcast, but I think this is a show topic that would be interesting and really valuable to people who are in similar situations to ours.

It would be great to hear some perspectives on how to manage labour and bringing baby home or some expert advice on how to handle it all when a parent has a disability.
Thanks!

kcairns,
Yes thanks for your topic idea. I will check around and see if we can help. However I do think this might be a hard show simply because of all the different types and severity of disabilities. This probability needs to be addressed individually. Also, can you get family involved? Doula?

Thanks for listening and supporting PregTASTIC
