What are your thoughts on going to the dentists? My wife is very sensitive and usually gets really drugged up at the dentist. So we're looking to change dentists to one that uses only temporary drugs that shouldn't affect our baby. Any thoughts?

I haven't had to receive any drugs at the dentist with either of my pregnancies, so I can't really say that I know what is the best move there. It is vitally important that women take care of their dental health during pregnancy- especially because they're more susceptible to dental and gum disease AND because poor dental health has been linked to pre-term labor, as well as heart disease. I try to do only what is necessary to maintain good health during pregnancy and avoid those procedures that can wait until farther down the road.

That is definitly something you should talk with your dentist and ob about. You also could wait to do any dental work until after giving birth if not breastfeeding and possibly after breastfeeding if doing so.
