I would like to hear a show about dealing with colic. And yes my little one has colic.

I have an 8 month old and a 2 year old.... How about a show about getting things done/on a good schedule when you have a new baby AND a young tot!

Another "guest" that could be really cool to hear if he'd do it is Dr Karp. He has the books The Happiest Baby On the Block, and The Happiest Toddler On the Block... I wish I had read the baby one before or when my second son first came. I read it at about 2 months and it was quite helpful, but it would have been better to start off with it! The toddler one is great too....

OK, with all of my 3:00am feedings, I've had time to think about what I would like to hear on NMNB. So here is my "list".

Idea 1: "Solids 101". How do you know when your baby is ready for solids, what should you start them on, when to introduce something new, what foods to avoid the first year and when to start introducing a sippy cup.

Idea 2: "Making Your Own Baby Food". How to get started, what equipment do you need and how do you store it?

Idea 3: "Playtime". What are some age appropriate games I can play with my baby?

Idea 4: "When Parenting Styles Attack". How to handle family, friends and cargivers when they will not respect your parenting wishes.

Idea 5: "Winterizing Your Baby". Maybe this should be called "Dressing for the Seasons". What is appropriate clothing for the different seasons and what are some of the most common mistakes made when dressing your child for going out?

Idea 6: "Major Milestones for the First Year". Is this already a show? What can I expect my baby to be doing in the first year.

Idea 7: "Storing Photos". You just did the "Photographing Your Baby" episode and the gentleman mentioned something about filing your photos. I would love to hear more about that!

Well, I think I've burned up most of my ideas for the time being. You can take 'em or leave 'em. These are just some of the things that bounce around in my head.

P.S. I was a zeaulous Pregtastic listener and my daughter is only two months old but I'm already dreading the day when I've outgrown NMNB. Is there a Toddlertastic in the works?

Yes, I like tiredmommy's ideas too!

To expand on a couple ideas about food.....

- how about sifting through all the different info! Some ppl say 4 months is ok to start others 6... the Public Health in my area recommends exclusive breast feeding until 7-9 months and starting solids then.... so ya, how to judge when to start etc...

- and secondly... not only starting solids - when and what - but maybe some baby led weaning.... my first son started at about 7 months and took to eating solid food fast progressing quickly to finger foods... my 8 month old now will hardly eat anything... literally!... I'm lucky to get an oz or 2 of something into him... but he does like to chew on some real solid food a bit... so info on how to go with he baby led weaning approach to starting solids would be great to hear about!

And as a mom to a baby and a toddler... a Toddlertastic would be awesome!!

Oooh, I am doing baby led weaning too!

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization both say no solids at all until 6 mos with BF or formula being the main intake- "food for fun until the age of one." So that is what I am doing. He is eating dinner with us (Baby led weaning) and for the rest of the day/night nurses.

I would also love an episode on Solids... when to start, what to start with, and how to make your own food.

I was just reading Super Baby Foods - it would be great to get the author of that book on.
