Hello Ladies,
I am 22 weeks 6 days pregnant and have had a rather rough pregnancy so far. Ive never had the best of eating or hydrating habits and its been a hard process learning to feed myself regularly. I am also vegetarian. I weighed about 105 pounds at the start of my pregnancy and now i am about 116 pounds. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions (they would like to share) for simple vegetarian snacks that are protein rich. Thanks!! Indrani |

Isn't it harmful because your baby needs essential vitamins that you can only find in meat sources?

Roasted chickpeas! They are super high in iron and protein. You can buy them roasted at Indian grocery stores, or make them yourself by tossing cooked and thoroughly dried chickpeas with oil, salt and spices (all optional - you can roast plain -, but very yummy) and roast in a 400 degree oven on a cookie sheet.

I love roasted chickpeas. Just make sure you are taking your prenatals and eating high protein and iron sources- such as in beans and you will be fine.
I found this site from the Cleveland Clinic that looks pretty good too! http://my.clevelandclinic.org/health...getarians.aspx
