Hi
In september we are going aborad for the first time with the baby. Well actually first time with kids. 4 adults, 2 toddlers and a 4 month old. We've booked our flights and reserved our seats (6 plus babe in arms) I'm just wondering what the deal is with pushchairs? Do you need to pre book them with the airline? Do they go in the cabin or hold? are they included or on top of your baggage allowance? I'm looking at getting a second hand lightweight stroller, but my sister is talking about taking the double buggy? Any advice much appreciated.

Airlines are pretty accomodating with pushchairs, at least in the States. (I know them as strollers). Usually you can take them right down to the end of the jet walkway and leave them there for the baggage handlers to load. There's usually a few there - they get loaded up in the cargo last and taken off first. You pick them up in the same place at your destination.
Of course, this may have changed with all the airline industry penny-pinching going on, so call your airline to confirm. Have a great trip. Mike |
