Default Stinky diaper pail problem solved!

I'm using cloth diapers and EC, so I don't have many wet diapers and no poopy ones, but I also don't have to wash diapers everyday. Still, the diaper pail stinks! Finally, I found a solution. Lee Valley sells volcanic deodorizers. I taped one to the lid of my diaper pail and it works like a charm. Five stars from me!

Ooh those look like fun!

I really need something for our cloth pail too. The ammonia smell is SO GROSS.

Thanks Dec1st! I have been using cloth diapers for 2 years now, and sometimes walking into that room in the summertime is enough to knock you out!! The ammonia is pretty hard to take, but I wouldn't change a thing. I love cloth diapers. It's one of the best choices we made! Besides the ammonia is strong but it's not as bad as stinky disposables... Great tip!!

Default Tell Me More

Apparently I'm a moron and can't find the product you mentioned in the store. Do you have a product number? Thanks

Diaper smells really sucks so a deodorizer is a must. I prefer cheaper deodorizers.

Here's something I did for our cloth diaper pail:

Sew a small patch of an absorbent material (like an old towel/washcloth) into the wet bag, near the top.

Each time you replace the bag, put a few drops of essential oil or fragrance oil on the patch of material. I got a bottle of Clean Linen fragrance oil at WalMart for $1.88.

It smells fabulous and I love getting a whiff of a clean smell when I walk in my son's room rather than the smell of dirty diapers.
