My name is Nicole. I am 31 years old and due for April 4, 2007. This will be my first child. The excitement is more with my mother, because this will be her first grandchild. I have had an overall good pregnancy. I am one of those women who had very mild morning sickness that did not last more than two weeks of the entire pregnancy so far. During my first trimester, I was very tired. Although, once I started my prenatal supplements around my ninth week, I was fine. I can’t really say I have had any major discomforts other than my thighs being uncomfortable at night time if I try to sleep on the same side most of the night.

My biggest adjustment to being pregnant is watching my weight go up since I have been thin all my life. Although, since I’m all belly and thighs I keep hearing that I should quickly bounce back close to my regular size. I’m crossing my fingers on that one. Even though, it’s all baby, just standing on the scale is becoming frightening. I’ve gained 25lbs so far and need between five to 10 more pounds for delivery.

What are you most excited about? I’m excited about that moment of actually seeing the baby for the first time. There’s this little person growing inside, moving and kicking and to finally meet him or her will be the most exciting part.

How is your energy level compared to “normal”? My energy level now is actually the same as before pregnancy.

What clothes are you finding most comfy? Until I was unable to wear most of my jeans, I wore a lot of babydoll tops. Now, I have switched to t-shirts, sweat pants, and tennis shoes most days since I work from home most days. Thank goodness for virtual offices!

What type of food are you craving or have aversion to; does the smell of pickles make you smile or gag? I have not been having strange cravings.

What color will you paint the nursery? We do not know the gender of the baby yet, but plan to paint the nursery a green color regardless.

What is something silly, verging on ridiculous, that your husband has said about your pregnancy? I was blow-drying my hair in my undergarments and my husband came up to my, placed his hands on my expanding belly and said “I love how you are plumping out.” This is something that would have normally sent me over the edge, but I just had to laugh. Aside of the pregnancy, he has always preferred women with fullness so I took this as a compliment.

Where did you conceive? Do you want to share some funny details? Well, he was suppose to actually be out-of-town that evening so that alone was a surprise. Two weeks later, I noticed that I was starting to have changes, but I was in denial. I thought I was having premenstrual symptoms.
